Who Am I?
I am a teacher and union member running for congress in Colorado’s 1st Congressional District. I was born in San Angelo, Texas to a mother who served in the Air Force and a father who became a naturalized citizen and a small business owner after immigrating to the United States. My life experiences taught me what it means to work hard and persevere against any obstacle, and the value of giving anything I can back to my community. I’ve organized my community in the fight to protect racial justice, bodily autonomy, students' lives, and public education. I will fight to lower the cost of living for the working class, secure the rights of marginalized communities threatened by the Trump administration’s actions, support access to tuition-free public college and Medicare for all, and make this country a place for working families to live with dignity.
It’s Time to Fight For Our Freedoms
-
Working families deserve to live with dignity. That’s why I support the following:
Raise the federal minimum wage to at least $20/hr and strengthen unions.
Cancel student debt, make public college free, and expand the Child Tax Credit.
Lower housing costs through social housing, affordable rent, and redlining repair.
Guarantee healthcare for all and cap prescription drug costs.
-
Denver families deserve someone who is willing to fight to protect your right to Bodily Autonomy. I promise to fight for the following in congress:
Enshrine abortion rights into federal law.
Protect access to reproductive health and gender-affirming care.
Ensure paid family leave, sick days, and universal childcare so people can actually make choices about their bodies and their lives.
-
As a teacher, I know how important it is to leave a planet worth living on for the next generation. In congress, I promise to fight for the following:
Invest in green jobs and infrastructure instead of endless war spending.
Retrofit and green Denver’s housing to cut emissions and energy bills.
Push for climate justice so working families, not polluters, shape our future.
